5) Alma Cocina
Offering the best variety of Latin/Mexican food in the area, there is something here for everyone to try. People who don't like spicy food may feel- I'll pass, but this cantina is one you won't be disappointed with.
So, what about the food? Ensaladas, sopas, ceviches (fresh seafood), tacos, goat, lamb, muscles, scallops, and more. And if you are looking for a gluten free menu, you've found the place.
Serving lunch from 11:00 a.m to 3:00 p.m. and dinner 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 (11:00 p.m. Friday and Saturday.)
(Location: Downtown)
4) The Vortex
Coining the phrase, "Official Idiot-Free Zone", three siblings had a vision to create a place where they would refuse to tolerate bad customers.
Their signature burgers have always been a hit. One being the Ka'mana Wa'na Lei'ya- chipotle cream cheese spread, bacon, and spicy pineapple jalapeño jelly on thick sliced toast.
A monster on the menu being the Quadruple Coronary Bypass, is estimated at around 9,600 calories. 27 strips of bacon... Pure bliss.
And of course you need something to wash this all down. Offering draft beer, beer cocktails, local beer, domestic beers, and international beer; there are hundreds to choose from and bartenders at The Vortex know how to whip up a drink.
(Locations: Little Five Points, Midtown, Comedy Club.)
3) The General Muir
New York Jewish Style Deli. That should say it all. If you've been to a Deli in NYC and you have been longing for that taste again, you may have just found the place.
From 7:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. on weekdays, The General Muir serves breakfast, lunch, dinner, and has the option of a weekend brunch. They have an espresso bar serving locally-roasted Batdorf & Bronson coffee along with a bar of wine, beer, spirits, and cocktails.
Pastrami is cured and smoked and the bagels are hand made and kettle boiled. All made with fresh ingredients. Delish!
(Location: Emory Point.)
2) Le Petit Marche
What do you think of when you hear French food? Hopefully not French fries. Ha-ha.
Serving soups, salads, breads, paninis, sandwiches, oatmeal, french toast, and more. Yes, these all sound like normal foods, but here they are made with style. You can customize your own egg sandwich for breakfast choosing one of the four breads available, variety of cheeses, and a meat. Lunch; maybe a spicy tuna croissant or the famous croquette.
And to my surprise they make tacos. Yes, French cuisine and tacos mend well. The Lumberjack taco; A grilled flour tortilla with black forest ham, tater tots, house-made chipotle remoulade, scrambled eggs, and melted cheese.
(Location: Kirkwood.)
1) Canoe
Situated on the banks of the Chattahoochee River, this restaurant offers a beautiful view as you stuff your face with some brioche french toast.
Outlined with flowers and greenery, take a stroll around the property on the meandering walkways, and when you reach the bank of the river, you'll notice an outdoor bar you can pop a squat, and enjoy a drink.
Now, when someone says brunch, what do you normally think of? Eggs, french toast, bacon, or sausage. Well on this menu, brunch has reached a new level. How about zucchini and pecan bread with basil cream cheese, or smoked salmon eggs benedict, or the bourbon syrup dredged on pecan pancakes. Mouth watering stuff right there y'all.
Canoe also has several different rooms you can rent out. Either a wedding in the River Garden, or just a small gathering in The Wine Room.
(Location: Vinings)
